The City of Cold Lake is seeking qualified individuals to fill two permanent part-time positions of Front Desk Receptionist with the Department of Community Services.
Reporting to the Protective Services Manager, the Front Desk Receptionist is primarily responsible for customer service in the Animal Care and Control Centre (ACCC) by providing telephone and front counter reception, cash receipting, ensuring the facility is meeting the expectations of the citizens of the City of Cold Lake, and is the initial contact for all public inquiries. The Front Desk Receptionist must have the ability to deal effectively, communicate well with the public and staff in a fast-paced environment, and have the initiative to work well independently and as a team member. This position is the ambassador for the City of Cold Lake and must possess exemplary customer service skills. The greatest challenge of this job is to successfully manage various projects with deadlines and constant interruptions, while always ensuring customers’ needs are met. The incumbent must be an excellent communicator, able to remain open-minded, positive and upbeat, while having the ability to adapt to changes on the basis of new information and/or direction. The incumbent must also be trustworthy and be able to deal with confidential and/or sensitive information. The Front Desk Receptionist will manage postings on the City’s social media platform on lost & found animals as well as maintain a professional image both in person and on the phone. The incumbent must be available for afternoon and Saturday shifts; and will be scheduled for 14 hours/week. This position may have very limited contact with animals.
