We’re on the hunt for a Business Development Manager on our New Business team at our Brampton or Kanata office.


 

Robotics & Space Operations: With 40 years of operational experience and proven performance on the iconic Canadarm programs including Space Shuttle and International Space Station robotics and operations support, our Robotics & Space Operations team has 100% mission success in making space dreams come true. As our Business Development Manager you will be responsible for bringing in new business for the Vision Systems and Sensors group. MDA’s extensive suite of sensors include space qualified LiDAR systems, metrology instruments, IR cameras, and stereo cameras that consistently advance the boundaries of space exploration. Designed to operate in the harshest environments, our systems are currently operating or being developed for applications ranging from rendezvous docking & proximity operations, inspection and navigation of crewed and un-crewed spacecraft, rover navigation and localization, formation flying of spacecraft, and planetary landing. The Business Development Manager will lead front-end-of-the-business activities to identify and win new sensor sales.

Responsibilities:

MDA is currently seeking a Business Development Manager to be responsible for vision systems and sensors. The role of the Business Development Manager can be summarised as follows:

  • Develops and maintains customer relationships
  • Finds, cultivates, and brings forward sales opportunities to be qualified
  • Drives the qualification procedure within the Business Area
  • Tracks opportunities using Salesforce and communicates the status of opportunities to the team
  • Provides customer-focused insights and feedback
  • Understands competitive landscape and can speak to MDA’s differentiation
  • Represents the customer’s requirements and perspectives as input to the pursuit strategy
  • Assists in development of the pursuit plan
  • Supports pursuit progression through to close
  • Provides input to the pricing strategy
  • Works with Product Management team to prioritize products and features
  • Supports Corporate Development team in creation of the annual Strategic Growth Plan

Comments/Special Considerations:

Successful candidates must obtain and hold security clearance at the reliability status level, and pass security assessment for the Controlled Goods Program (CGP) and ITAR.
