What is the opportunity?

The Client Technology Group is rebuilding its Client Lifecycle Management tools as part of RBC Capital Markets on-going commitment to best in class client management.

This hands-on role will drive UI development for this key initiative and provide a platform as a thought leader in UI practice within the Client Technology Group and Capital Markets. The role offers potential for people management as the project gathers pace. While this role will be based in Toronto, we would also be open to candidates in Halifax, NS.

What will you do?

• Own all aspects of CLM front end development
• Work with the product team to define requirements
• Collaborate with other disciplines in the CLM product team to deliver high quality software
• Collaborate with the Client Tech front end teams to evolve and contribute to our UI framework
• Participate in all aspects of the project lifecycle from feature ideation to release management

What do you need to succeed?

Must-Have:

• Solid professional experience working on data driven single page applications
• Solid hands on experience using HTML5, JavaScript, and CSS3
• Well versed with modern JavaScript technologies such as React, Redux, RxJS, Node.js, etc.
• An eye for good UX design.
• Experience with testing frameworks such as Jest, Enzyme, Jasmine, Mocha, etc.
• Experience with integration technologies including messaging, REST, websockets, etc
• Strong team player – open minded to consider novel approaches to solving difficult problems; Energetic – willing to work hard, and take pride in success; Self-motivated – driven to get results, takes initiative and needs minimum oversight
• Experience working in a multi-disciplinary, agile team
• Ability to communicate technical considerations to a wider audience
• Deadline-driven and results-oriented; able to meet consistently high-quality standards while handling a variety of tasks and deadlines simultaneously.

Nice to have:

• Capital Markets experience is a strong plus.
• Strategic thinker with excellent interpersonal skills
• Experience managing people
• Experience working in a financial institution or client life cycle management
