Jobs, Economy, and Innovation is responsible for leading efforts to grow Alberta’s economy by supporting Alberta’s entrepreneurs and job creators, attracting investment, growing trade, strengthening Alberta’s key sectors and ensuring Alberta has an innovative and competitive business environment.
The Investment Service Advisor (ISA) is accountable for coordinating and supporting stakeholders in investment attraction and providing client service delivery excellence to key stakeholders: the Investment and Growth Community of Practice (CoP), and Team Alberta (TA). This position is key to providing a one-window point of contact for the GOA in support of Jobs, Economy and Innovation (JEI), other ministries, Invest Alberta Corporation (IAC), municipalities and other facilitators of investment, such as the Government of Canada, and Invest in Canada, in order to coordinate Investment Service Delivery, policies and cooperation mechanisms.
This position works in close cooperation with a wide variety of internal and external clients and partners on a municipal, provincial, national and international level to coordinate the attraction of business, jobs and capital to the province. Stakeholders, processes and models continue to evolve and the ISA will have to be flexible in this changing environment using their networks, skills, and knowledge and use them to deliver customized for information needed to secure investment. The role will establish, maintain, influence, and coordinate where appropriate, resources within and external to the ministry to bring to bear specific expertise required to advance investment in Alberta.
1. Develop, coordinate and maintain internal stakeholder investment ecosystem Coordination: Investment and Growth Community of Practice (CoP).
2. Develop, coordinate and maintain external stakeholder investment ecosystem coordination - Team Alberta (TA)
3. Develop, coordinate and maintain a high standard of communication and reporting.
4. Continuously develop and maintain a high level of competency in the area of Investment attraction and industry competitiveness.
5. Support the Unit with issues management, using current policies, procedures and processes to resolve issues.
University graduation in a related field plus 4 years progressively responsible related experience; or equivalent as described below;
