Position Summary:
Reporting to the General Manager of General Medicines, the Head of Business Planning will assume a critical role serving as strategic advisor and counsel, assuming day-to-day responsibility and project management for key strategic projects and tasks and creating and maintaining cross-functional relationships to enable leadership success.
The position will liaise regularly with the Leadership Team and their respective functions (Sales, Market Access, Business Operations & Support, Brand Teams, IA, RD, etc.), on strategic priorities.
The role will be responsible to manage the Business Planning processes including marketing strategic planning, financial planning and forecasting, and demand/supply management coordination. While these processes may be led by other functions this individual will be responsible to coordinate, manage cross-functional communication and alignment, and ensure related processes are both locally and globally cohesive.
Responsible for tracking of key projects for the General Medicines business and the related metrics and Key Performance indicators as well as Key Internal Issues impacting the business.
Key Responsibilities:
Direct Support of the General Medicines Commercial Business
Setting the strategic priorities: helping the leaders identify the areas where they must direct their focus and identifying metrics for success. The priorities are to be communicated widely to the teams, re-evaluated regularly, and their progress is to be tracked continually.
Working in collaboration with the Communications business partner to plan and execute both the internal and external Communications plans for the overall business. This could include defining the Communications strategy, providing input to communications plans, or drafting messages and presentation decks for the dissemination of key information internally, and consolidating reports, pitch decks, or presentations for the leadership team.
Management of the External Sales force through external organization program leaders and Sales Managers in alignment with the General Manager. This would include coordination of Quarterly Business Reviews, Sanofi Training Plans, facilitation of new system, product, business model launches, as well as on-boarding processes.
Supporting the transformation to and execution of the Agile methodology in collaboration with the local and global Omnichannel teams.
Strategic and Business Planning
Leading annual strategic planning for the General Medicines Business Unit.
Collaborate with the appropriate teams to coordinate the budget planning process through the consideration across all appropriate functions.
The role will be responsible to manage the Business Planning processes including marketing strategic planning, financial planning and forecasting, and demand/supply management coordination. Creating and updating dashboards for reviewing key performance indicators for cross-BU projects and working with the marketing teams to assist in the coordination of brand specific dashboard reviews.
Project Management
Leading and/or overseeing large, often cross-functional strategic projects or initiatives.
Bringing together multiple stakeholders and helping drive decisions.
Researching, benchmarking, analyzing data and making recommendations.
Developing, adapting, and reviewing systems and processes to streamline operations.
Ensuring the documentation and transparency of key processes, and adhering to basic knowledge management principles
Acting as liaison with compliance as well as internal auditors to support leadership and the broader team in SOP roll-outs, audit coordination, and governance project execution.
Management, Leadership and People Development
Promoting, through leadership, the values of Sanofi Canada and the specific vision/ambition of the General Medicines organization.
Creating an inspirational environment that fosters learning, entrepreneurial spirit, teamwork, empowerment, passion, respect and trust
Leading and managing change to ensure alignment to the organization’s strategic direction in support of the key objectives.
Accountable for implementation of Health, Safety and Environment programs and continuous promotion of safety behaviors across the organization.
Meeting & Event Preparation
Planning and leading leadership retreats, priority setting meetings, and other special events (including major meetings such as leadership meetings, sales meetings, Global leadership team meetings and other key initiative meetings).
Meeting preparation and follow up: reviewing upcoming meetings to ensure the leadership team has all of the information needed prior to the meeting, and ensuring agendas and objectives are communicated in advance.
