Provides clerical services for the Record Processing section of Health Information Management. This position may be responsible for one or more of the following tasks to ensure immediate access to patient information: process outpatient/ inpatient, day surgery, emergency and ambulatory care visit documentation, performs deficiency management functions, maintains control of patient records to ensure immediate access, maintains the integrity of the Records Management and the ADT databases, filing, scanning and performs other related duties as required to support the Health Information Management Department.
As an Administrative Support II, you will require administrative or specialized skills and knowledge to support procedures, practices and initiatives within a department or program.
Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent.
Additional Required Qualifications:Successful completion of Medical Terminology course (Testing will be performed). Experience: 2 years reception experience. Skills: Excellent interpersonal skills. Ability to work cooperatively and professionally with clients, nursing staff, and physicians. Ability to prioritize and organize work in a fast-paced environment while receiving minimal supervision. The excellent attendance record, reliability, and personal suitability must be demonstrated through employment references. Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively. Neat appearance. Superior customer service skills. Proven accuracy in spelling, keyboarding, and attention to detail. Minimum typing speed of 45 wpm - testing will be performed. Proven initiative and ability to work with minimal supervision.
Preferred Qualifications:The familiarity of Alberta Health Services and Programs an asset. Working knowledge of patient/ client filing systems an asset, particularly terminal digit systems.
