The City of Cold Lake is seeking a qualified individual to fill the permanent, full-time position of Administrative Assistant with the Department of Community Services.
Reporting to the Protective Services Manager, the Administrative Assistant will be working at the City’s Animal Care and Control Centre (ACCC) and is primarily responsible for providing telephone and counter reception, processing financial transactions, and is the initial contact for all public inquiries. Based on established guidelines and policies, this role serves as a front line contact in providing information and resolving issues from the public, Managers and other stakeholders, as well as dealing with questions and the administration of processes and policies. This position works with multiple systems and all departments. The greatest challenge of this job is to successfully manage multiple projects with extremely tight, inflexible deadlines with frequent interruptions. The Administrative Assistant will manage postings on the City’s social media platform on lost & found animals as well as maintain a professional image both in person and on the phone. This position may have very limited contact with animals.
